NVIDIA Vera Rubin Platform
NVIDIA unveiled its Vera Rubin superchip at CES 2026 in January, pairing a custom Vera CPU with Rubin GPUs, and moved the platform into full production by GTC in March.
Why It Mattered
The Vera Rubin platform, built around the 336-billion-transistor Rubin R100 GPU and an 88-core Vera CPU, promised roughly five times the inference performance of Blackwell at a fraction of the cost per token. As the successor to the architecture that powered the 2024-2025 AI buildout, it set the hardware baseline for the next wave of frontier model training and large-scale agentic inference.
